  • $50.
    Applies: Fourth false alarm in any calendar year.

    For the fourth false alarm in any calendar year, the alarm user shall pay a false alarm fee in the amount of $50.
  • $75.
    Applies: Fifth false alarm in any calendar year.
    § 8.04.130 · code text
    For the fifth false alarm in any calendar year, the alarm user shall pay a false alarm fee of $75.
  • $100.
    Applies: Sixth and each later false alarm in any calendar year.

    For the sixth and each subsequent false alarm in any calendar year, the alarm user shall pay a false alarm fee of $100 for each such false alarm.
False alarms before a fee
  • The first 3 false alarms in a calendar year carry no fee.
    Applies: False alarm that draws a police response.

    The first three false alarms in any calendar year shall not incur a false alarm fee penalty amount.
Alarm permit
  • Register the alarm and get a department permit and registration number before activation, at least 30 days before.

    A alarm system shall not be activated or used in the city of Hanford until it is registered in accordance with the provisions of this section and a registration number and permit is issued by the department.
When a permit can be revoked
  • The department may suspend or revoke the alarm permit and registration number.
    Applies: More than 7 verified false alarms in a calendar year, or other violations such as unpaid false alarm fees.

    or should an alarm system have more than seven false alarms (as verified by the department) in any calendar year, the department may suspend or revoke the alarm system permit and registration number issued to the alarm user.
