Where is an apartment building (multifamily housing) allowed in Solvang?

Solvang's code calls this use “Multi-Unit Dwellings, Attached”. Each row links to the use table it comes from. A zone marked “see note” has a condition in the code, for example upper floors only or a larger lot.

ER-3, ER-1, R-1, PR.

• S3 also has "Multi-Unit Dwellings, Detached/Cluster Development 2" (R-2 P, R-3 P, others blank; note 2: "Clustered Development. The clustered residential density shall not exceed the density allowed by the zone district."). S4 "Mixed-Use Project 3" CUP in CH, CR, VMU, PO: note 3 says multifamily residential is permitted in mixed-use only under conditions (no ground-floor residential in vertical mixed use; limited to no more than 49% of floor area outside the village design district overlay zones) - not shown as multifamily cells.
• State law: State laws such as AB 2011, SB 6 and the density bonus law can allow homes on some commercial sites, or more units than this table shows.
