Titles 20 through 29 of the Cerritos Municipal Code may be referred to as the city development code. (Ord. 346 § 1 (part), 1972)

The city of Cerritos is a charter city and authorized to adopt this city development code to guide and control development of all real property within its boundaries. Those sections of the city development code which relate to the community redevelopment, control of subdivisions and adoption of a general plan are adopted pursuant to the authorization of the laws of this state. (Ord. 346 § 1 (part), 1972)

This city development code continues, amends, and adds to previous ordinances and municipal code provisions including the zone ordinance, subdivision ordinance, redevelopment plan, building code, grading ordinance, electrical code, mechanical code, plumbing code, fire prevention code, provisions relating to streets and sidewalks, water and sewers, public utilities and other provisions relating to the arrangement, use, construction, development, maintenance, and operation of land and improvements within the city.
