Zones where a church or other place of worship can go
Dixon's code calls this use “Community Assembly”. Each row links to the use table it comes from. A zone marked “see note” has a condition in the code, for example upper floors only or a larger lot.
The code defines “Community Assembly”: “A facility for public or private meetings and gatherings, including community centers, houses of worship, union halls, meeting halls, and membership organizations. This classification includes the use of functionally related facilities for the use of” (§ 18.34.020)

What else applies
- In S3 (commercial/mixed-use) the table splits "Community Assembly, 5,000 square feet or less" (cells shown: DMX C(2), CMX P*, CN P, CR -, CS A) from "more than 5,000 square feet" (DMX -, CMX P*, CN P, CR -, CS A). RL, RM, PF, PR have one undivided "Community Assembly" row. Definition is in Chapter 18.34 (not in packet).
- State law: Federal law (RLUIPA) bars zoning rules that treat religious assembly worse than other assembly uses.
- Not covered here: CAMX (land uses set by the approved PD plan, S3); PD overlay districts (S6); any agricultural or other districts not in the packet text. Overlay zones and specific plans can also change the answer.
