Cannot extend into the front, side or street-side setbacks. Applies: Ground-mounted solar systems at minimum design tilt. § 9.42.030 · code text Ground mounted solar energy systems may not extend into the front, side and street side setbacks when oriented at minimum design tilt. Panel surface area can be at most half the main building's footprint. Applies: Pole or ground-mounted systems. § 9.42.030 · code text The surface area of pole or ground mount systems shall not exceed half the building footprint of the principal structure.
Solar permit process	Administrative approval and all permits within a reasonable time after a complete application meeting the checklist and standard plans. Applies: Small residential rooftop solar; grid connection needs separate approval from the local utility. § 8.15.040 · code text the building official shall administratively approve the application and issue all required permits or authorizations within a reasonable time following receipt of a complete application that meets the requirements of the approved checklist, standard plans and this Chapter.
