Chapter 17.30 — CG COMMERCIAL GENERAL DISTRICT

§ 17.30.010. Purpose. ¶
The CG district establishes a zoning district for commercial uses oriented along Pacific Coast Highway (PCH). Uses include a wider range of resident and visitor serving uses. (Prior code § 9270; Ord. 86 § 3, 1993; Ord. 93 § 30, 1993)
§ 17.30.020. Permitted uses. ¶
The following uses and structures are permitted in the CG district:
A. Masonry supplies;
B. Sculptural and metal art activities.
C. Emergency shelters;
D. Single-room occupancy facilities.

§ 17.30.030. Conditionally permitted uses. ¶
The following uses may be permitted subject to obtaining a conditional use permit:
A. All conditionally permitted uses set forth in Section 17.28.030 (CV-2 district), excluding overnight accommodations;
B. Car washes and car washing;
C. Wastewater storage and hauling;
D. Cultural and artistic uses, such as museums, galleries, performing arts studios;
E. Light industrial uses which are not obnoxious or offensive by reason of emission of odor, dust, smoke, noxious gases, noise, vibration, glare, heat or other impacts, nor hazardous by way of materials, process, product, waste or other methods. These uses shall include the following:
Automobile towing and storage,
Manufacturing, processing or treatment of products,
Research and development and testing facilities,
Wholesale, storage and distribution,
Other uses determined by the planning director to be of a similar nature and not more objectionable than the uses listed above;
F. Movie theaters;
G. Neighborhood-serving construction services shall be located on a parcel that is at least five acres in net lot area.

§ 17.30.040. Lot development criteria. ¶
All new lots created in the CG district shall comply with the provisions of Section 17.24.040 . (Prior code § 9273; Ord. 86 § 3, 1993; Ord. 93 § 33, 1993)
