Chapter 94 — CEMETERIES

It shall be unlawful for any person to purchase, or otherwise acquire, sell, convey, lease or in any manner or way dispose of any land in the city for the purpose of burying, interring or cremating the dead body of any human being therein except in those districts set forth in this chapter. It shall be unlawful for any person to bury, inter or cremate, or cause to be buried, interred or cremated, the dead body of any human being in the city except in those districts described as follows:

(A) Beginning at a point distant 15°, 40 minutes east 411.98 feet from a point on the northerly line of Lot B of Tract No. 214, as recorded in Map Book 14, page 1, records of Los Angeles County, California, in the office of the County Recorder thereof, said point on the northerly line of said Lot B being distant north 71°, no minutes west 25.39 feet from the most easterly corner of said Lot B; thence south 74°, 20 minutes east 145.39 feet to a point on the westerly line of Junipero Street; thence along said westerly line of Junipero Street north 2°, 10 minutes east 160.13 feet; thence north 6°, 30 minutes east 235.80 feet; thence leaving said Junipero Street north 74°, 20 minutes west 265.36 feet; thence south 15°, 40 minutes west 388.50 feet; thence south 74°, 20 minutes east 194.88 feet to the point of beginning;

(B) A portion of Lot 1 of Tract No. 152, as recorded in Map Book 13, page 101, records of Los Angeles County, California, in the office of the County Recorder thereof, and a portion of Section 2, Township 1 South, Range 12 West, S. B. M., described as follows: Beginning at the northeast corner of said Lot 1; thence south no degrees, 5 minutes west along the east line of said Lot 1 326.47 feet to the northeast corner of Tract No. 1, Dobbins Tract, as per map recorded in Book 10, page 80 of Maps, records of said Los Angeles County; thence south no degrees, 15 minutes east along the west line of said Tract No. 1 of Dobbins Tract and its prolongation southerly 872.22 feet; thence north 88°, 53 minutes west 300.85 feet to a point in the east line of said Lot 1, Tract No. 152; thence north no degrees, 18 minutes east along said east line of said Lot 1 and its prolongation northerly to the southerly line of the Southern Pacific Railroad Company's right-of-way (Monrovia Branch); thence easterly along the said southerly line of said Southern Pacific Railroad Company's right-of-way to the point of beginning; also, Tracts 3 and 4 of the Dobbins Tract, as per map recorded in Book 10, page 80 of Maps, records of said Los Angeles County; also, that portion of the southwest quarter of the northeast quarter of Section 2, Township 1 South, Range 12 West, S. B. M., described as follows: Beginning at the southwest corner of Tract No. 3, Dobbins Tract, as per map recorded in Book 10, page 80 of Maps; thence north no degrees, 30 minutes west along the west line of said Tract No. 3, 155.10 feet to the northwest corner thereof; thence south 89°, 30 minutes west 100 feet; thence south no degrees, 30 minutes east 155.10 feet to a point in the north line of Tract No. 1 of the said Dobbins Tract; thence north 89°, 30 minutes east along said northerly line 100 feet to the point of beginning; and

aps; thence north no degrees, 30 minutes west along the west line of said Tract No. 3, 155.10 feet to the northwest corner thereof; thence south 89°, 30 minutes west 100 feet; thence south no degrees, 30 minutes east 155.10 feet to a point in the north line of Tract No. 1 of the said Dobbins Tract; thence north 89°, 30 minutes east along said northerly line 100 feet to the point of beginning; and

(C) The west 44 feet of the north 276 feet of that portion of Tract No. 1 of the Dobbins Tract, in the City of San Gabriel, County of Los Angeles, State of California, as per map recorded in Book 10, page 80 of Maps, records of said Los Angeles County, lying south of and adjacent to the southerly line of the land described in the deed to the San Gabriel Cemetery Association, recorded in Book 14694, page 278, Official Records, in the office of said County Recorder; excepting therefrom the east 20 feet of the south 102 feet thereof.

(D) The land referred to herein below is situated in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, and is described as follows: The west half of the east half of that portion of the northeast quarter of the southwest quarter of Section 2, Township 1 South, Range 12 West, San Bernardino Meridian, in the City of San Gabriel, County of Los Angeles, State of California, according to the official plat of said land filed in the District Land Office February 11, 1870, described as follows: Beginning at the southeast corner of the land described in the deed to the San Gabriel Cemetery Association, recorded in Book 1975, Page 189, official records of said county, said point being in the east line of said northeast quarter of the southwest quarter, thence southerly along said line 336.85 feet, more or less to a point in the north line of the land described in the deed of the City of San Gabriel, recorded in Book 6155, Page 39 of Deeds, records of county; thence westerly along said northerly line 304.61 feet, more or less, to the easterly line of Lot 1 of Tract No. 152, as per map recorded in Book 13, Page 101 of Maps, records of said county; thence northerly along said easterly line 344.57, more or less, to the southwest corner of said land described in the deed to the San Gabriel Cemetery Association; thence easterly along the southerly line of said last mentioned land, 300.83 feet, more or less, to the point of beginning.
