Chapter 18.58 — I-1 INSTITUTIONAL USE DISTRICT

§ 18.58.010. Intent. ¶
The I-1 district is intended to provide areas necessary for the maintenance and viability of institutional uses. Because these uses occupy special places in the community and because each generates its own unique circumstances, needs and impacts, an individual institutional district has been created.

§ 18.58.020. Applicability. ¶
The regulations set out in this chapter shall apply to all I-1 districts and shall be subject to Chapters 18.102 through 18.108 of this title.

§ 18.58.030. Uses allowed by right. ¶
Uses allowed by right in an I-1 district shall be as follows:
(1) Colleges, high schools, schools and facilities directly related to the provision of educational services;
(2) Field stations, experiment stations and institutional research facilities;
(3) Fire stations;
(4) Public uses and buildings, including those owned or managed by federal, state, county, city or district;
(5) All other similar uses to those enumerated above when determined by the planning director, upon presentation of substantial evidence, to be of the same general character as the abovepermitted uses.

§ 18.58.040. Development subject to design review. ¶
All development shall be subject to design review according to the provisions of this title. (Ord. 467-Q § 18, 1994)
