13.24 Authorization to Reopen Mortgage Transaction

A. HUD must advise the Lender of its approval or denial of the request for a mortgage increase upon completion of technical processing. Where a determination is made to increase the mortgage, use Specimen Letter–Agreement Authorizing Reopening of Mortgage Transaction (Appendix 13, Section A.13.1) to notify the mortgagee.

Approval of a mortgage increase is subject to the payment of the following fees based on the amount of the increase.
- Application Fee of $3.00 per thousand of the increase.

Inspection Fee of $5.00 per thousand of the increase is applicable only when the increase involves construction hard costs.
